I spent years watching smart people throw more bodies at broken systems.

The Practice

The AI Minimalist is an AI systems consulting practice built for small business owners and operators. We help teams of 20 to 50 people identify where AI belongs in their operation — and implement it in a way that actually reduces waste and improves output.

The Background

The practice was founded by an industrial engineer with over a decade of operations experience, including leading teams of 70 or more direct reports inside Amazon's logistics network. That background — 14-hour shifts, constant pressure to scale, surrounded by automation that still couldn't fix systemic waste — is what drives the methodology.

The insight wasn't that AI is bad. It was that AI placed wrong is just as wasteful as the problem it was supposed to solve. The AI Minimalist exists because most small businesses need a systems thinker before they need a tool.

The Turning Point

That lens followed me into the AI space. I joined TurboClaim, an AI startup solving a real operational problem for insurance adjusters.

That's where it clicked. The question was never can AI do this? It was always can we break the process down simply enough for AI to handle it?

Then we lost an investor. I got cut. And instead of going back to corporate, I built something.

What I See Now

Here's what founders do instead: they buy a tool. They try it for two weeks. It helps a little. They buy another. Then another. Six months later they have five subscriptions, a vague sense that AI is useful, and no idea where any of it actually fits in their operation.

That's not an AI problem. That's a systems problem. And it's exactly what The AI Minimalist is built to fix.

Credentials built in operations, not in software.

This isn't theory. It's a methodology built from years of watching what actually moves the needle in operations — and what doesn't.

AI is a component. Not a strategy. Not a solution.

AI is a component — and like any component, its value depends entirely on where you place it.

Small businesses don't have an AI problem. They have a systems problem. The tool is almost never the issue. The placement is.

The AI Minimalist exists to help business owners think like systems engineers — map first, place second, validate always.
